It’s not every day someone moves into a new house…
Ever seen Christmas vacation? I adore the character of Aunt Bethany. She’s about as hilarious of an old bat as one can get. And yes, there is a part of me that desires to emulate her, but I digress. Anyway, here’s a clip that will (hopefully) explain the title of today’s post:
This post is dedicated to our new little house, the house without a name. (For now!) We’ve been loving nesting and decorating our new little home. Each room has its own unique flair and quaint charm and I’ll bet you can guess which one got attention first…
That’s right folks! Our cute little kitchen!
It has a sweet little vintage flair with all of our thrifted and gifted dishes and utensils. We popped off the cabinet doors for exposed shelves and storage and since these photos were taken have painted the edges of the shelves a lovely lemony yellow. We somehow ended up with subtle tones of the creamy yellow and deep, lush red through out the kitchen which really gives it an antiquated, vintagey flair.
Apart from my bright red tea kettle that Maddie gave me for my birthday this year, my favorite items include an antique elephant shaped ceramic pitcher and the ornamental dish cloth my mom gave me that has pictures of different food along with a calorie count. The one for candy reads “DANGER.” Tee hee.
What are your favorite parts of your dream kitchen?
Bisous!
Rachel

Aaaaah!! I’m in love with your new kitchen. I’ve always been a fan of the open cupboard look. All the thrifted items look great too. In my dream kitchen, I want one of those huge sinks that I can hide my dirty pots in when I feel lazy after making a meal
ooh! that’s a good one! I’ve always been a sucker for enameled sinks… those big kinds just like you said!
Very sweet, Rachel! It’s wonderful to be able to put your own touches on a place and really make it feel like home. Imagine all of the delicious delectables coming out of your new kitchen!
Thanks Annie! I am so glad that you like it!
A lovely but tiny kitchen, well decorated too!
Have fun cooking & baking in there!
Compared to our old house, this kitchen feels huge! Thanks for the happy cooking wishes!
Bisous!
