The Review You’ve All Been Waiting For…

**Trumpet sounds** COCONUT BLISS!!

I adore absolutely everything about this line of delicious vegan ice cream! Their flavors are fantastic, their ingredients are pure, they’re dairy/soy/and gluten free and hands down they’re the most delicious ice creams I’ve EVER put into my mouth. (EVER!)

There are 14 different flavors for the pints, and 2 fantastic flavors for the bars. I’m one lucky lady, because my local co-op has got both of those fantastic ice cream bar flavors:

Of the bars, my favorite is the Naked Coconut with it’s beautiful pure white color, creamy texture, and flakes of coconut sprinkled in. But if you’re in the mood for a chocolate kick, go for that delicious Dark Chocolate bar. It’s fantastic!

But my favorite flavor to date is definitely the Ginger Cookie Caramel:

This flavor stands out among many as both rich and complex. Maddie and I bought ourselves a pint to amplify our cinematic enjoyment of the latest installment in the Dark Knight Trilogy a couple of weeks ago. Both movie and ice cream where a fantastic combination, but I’ve got to say that this little pint of joy just stole the show for me. Talk about absolute bliss: a superhero movie AND this fantastic treat? Why we were just on cloud nine let me tell ya…

And as if I couldn’t sing this company’s praises enough, their products are also non GMO (a big one for me) and mostly additive free and they even explain a few of the lesser known ingredients on the back of the carton. For example they use a very small amount of guar gum in their ice cream, which is evidently from the guar bean which originates in India. So this thickener is unrefined and virtually unprocessed. I didn’t know that! How fantastic!

The pints run around $6.00 each, (At our co-op they’re $5.99, at Whole Foods they’re $6.39) so they’re a little more expensive than other vegan ice creams but trust me folks it is so worth it. I’ll gladly pay a little bit more for something that’s far more delicious and has far fewer ingredients (not to mention ones that I can actually pronounce) and is also a  safe and healthy treat. Oh and did I mention they sweeten the stuff with agave? Goodbye refined sugars, hello bliss.

Bisous!

  1. Yay the review!! I didn’t check to see but I had no idea they used agave – that’s incredible =D

    • I have been a wandering vegan for about a year now, and the only resoan I wander is to indulge in delicious, yummy sweet treats that contain egg and/or dairy. I was so impressed with Isa’s first book that I pre-ordered this one from Amazon, and I shall wander no more! Wow. This is a must-have for anyone who is vegan or allergic to dairy. You can pretty much recreate any of your favorite cupcake (or cake, for that matter same recipes, different pan) recipes without the need for cholesterol-laden egg or milk products (calories are another story ). The layout of the book is wonderful, and the pictures are great! I am so excited to make these as gifts for friends during the upcoming holiday season. They’ll NEVER believe they’re VEGAN. I think that’s the highest compliment any pastry chef could receive. 5 GLOWING STARS! Thanks, Isa, for making veganism so easy and tasty
