The Latest Adventures of Beans the Wonder Rabbit!
Beans the Wonder Rabbit has a new ‘do! And look at how cute she is!
As I’ve mentioned before, Beans is an English Angora rabbit so she has her fair share of fur. Angoras shed their fur when it gets too long for them, meaning I have to give her a trim or she’ll try and groom herself, with potentially disastrous results. Bunnies like Beans can get what’s called “wool block,” or an intestinal blockage of their own fur, if you don’t groom them properly. “Wool block” can be awful for fuzzy babies like Beans, and can result in a whole truck load of problems for them. (It can even kill the poor bunnies!) So a haircut Beans got, and she LOVES it!
You can tell she knows how cute she is, and that she feels a lot cooler and more comfortable now that her fur isn’t trying to clump up and shed. I love it too–she looks so “rabbity” when her hair is short!
Also, as if it isn’t obvious enough from the photos, the Wonder Rabbit has learned how to climb the stairs of the new house! She very carefully hops up each one to reach the upstairs level, and often sneaks into my studio which seems to be her favorite room of the house.
Unfortunately, she also adores eating the cat food, so we constantly have to shoo her away or hide their bowl from her. Even though I try and explain to Beans that she is vegan, she is convinced that she is a kitty and must eat what they do! I love watching (and listening to) the three of them run around the house and play together. Recently, I couldn’t find any of them and it was just quiet enough to be suspicious. I headed up to the studio and peaked under the bed, just to find them all under there snoozing. Oh, the adventures of being a cat and rabbit mom continue…
Bisous!
Rachel
