Through the Looking Glass (A Day in the Life): Friday
Yes, folks they’re back! After a long sabbatical, my “Through the Looking Glass” posts are resurfacing, back and better than ever!
Fridays are still my days off– no work, no class, no schedule so they’re my days to relax and enjoy all of life’s little pleasures. It started out a little something like this…
in the writing den! With a pot of coffee and a kitty watching the birds. Well, two kitties…
We put two of the kitchen chairs in front of the back door so they can enjoy the sunshine and the critter watching. This is where they’ll stay most of the day…
Breakfast was simple, well it was supposed to be simple anyway…
Until I burned the first round of toast…
Round two went a little better…
Beans hopped out to join the other kids…
And we split an apple.
Lunch was a delicious little spread at the co-op:
Vicken salad, pita, and Moroccan cous-cous and a GT’s kombucha.
Maddie worked Friday evening, so I was on my own. I had a late afternoon beer on the patio after some heavy duty writing. (I’m knee-deep in my thesis)
A delicious seasonal pumpkin or should I say punk’n ale from Uinta brewery.
I had the company of a fuzzy voyeur staring at me through the screen door.
What better to eat for dinner than my latest culinary kick? A vegan quesadilla made with Daiya, spinach, and mushrooms along with a little co-op guac, tofutti sour cream, and some delicious salsa from the taqueria where I work.
And what did I wear on Friday?
Why my green overalls of course!
How was your Friday?
Bisous!
Rachel

So sweet to put chairs near the door for your kitties (and Beans). Cats need to “patrol” their territory! Hope the writing is going well!
And they love to watch all of the backyard critters in their doman!
so, i’ve spent the past few days reading everyone of your posts in my free time and i just gotta say, I’m hooked! Being a carolina girl myself (chapel hill born and raised now residing in maine) as well as a fellow GF vegan; i just can’t get enough!
Though you make me homesick quite often.
But anywho, was wondering if the co-op you’re always mentioning is the Weaver Street Market?
In other matters, im also sipping on a harpoon pumpkin cider as i type!
okay, im done yammering!
Thank you!
Hi Hannah! Thanks so much for your sweet comment! Yes, it’s most definitely Weaver Street in downtown Carrboro! I haven’t tried the harpoon pumpkin yet, but I’d love to… I’ll see if they have it up at the Weave!
I saw prayer flags on the tree!!! or was it my imagination??
those are most definitely prayer flags!
