Greetings to you, 2013!
Happy New Year! It seems like it was only yesterday that people were worried about Y2K, doesn’t it?! Remember those old fables of the “millenium bug?”
This year, Maddie and I had a last minute change of plans, deciding to stay in our warm and cozy little school house instead of braving the cold and heading out the the local ski slopes. New Year’s Eve was a delicious day filled with fantastic food, delicious smells (of a pear and cranberry tart, no less!) and breaking in Maddie’s brand new chiminia, along with the pop of a champagne cork at midnight. It was a quiet, relaxing evening filled with laughter, When Harry Met Sally, (my favorite New Yearsy film) and our neighbor, Zenda’s, radiant company.
A few extra resolutions that I forgot to mention in yesterday’s post:
-bake more! I’ve got to utilize some of these beautiful cookbooks I’ve been neglecting
-create something everyday: a journal entry, a blog post, some sewing, a photograph, a crocheted monkey for my niece… I’d like to try my hand at becoming the creator of something each and every day! This is easier with my new phone (I’m FINALLY an iphone owner, and yes that is the reason for the sudden upgrade in my Instagram photo quality) and I’ve been running rampant with photographs and tweets!
-give “just because I love you” gifts to family and friends. This is something I’ve been wanting to do for a while–create a little something all wrapped up and lovely for someone in my life who needs a smile!
A great way to keep each other motivated and inspired is to share your ideas and goals for the new year with others! Comment on this post and let me know some of your personal hopes and dreams for 2013! I hope to share the results of mine (directly or indirectly) over the next 12 months.
Bisous! And welcome to you, 2013!

I think you two made the right decision on how to spend your New Year’s Eve
