Life.
I’ve had a lovely 2 weeks off while my employer has been away at a show, then there was foul weather, which evidently Maddie has been under. She’s been fighting off a nasty bout of vertigo from what we think might be an inner ear infection/virus/nasty thing. This has meant I’ve taken a couple of extra days off of work to stay at home with her, making soups, watching Netflix, and puttering about the house–my favorite!
I’ve dumped out a couple of my button jars and picked through my treasures, made a brooch out of 2 of them, glued a tail back on an antique ceramic cat, and made a pillow and purse on top of that! I love being forced to stay at home.
Shaking those “I should be doing something!” thoughts is more beneficial than you’d think, and the sooting creative process has lent its hand quite successfully.
I love these quiet pensive moments that are so rare these days between technology, work, and the 3.5 year mad dash that was my undergraduate career. Life has slowed down, and it’s sure to speed back up again. It’s been one of those days, however, where the pace feels just right to me.
Bisous!
Rachel
