cusp of autumn
We’ve been experiencing gorgeous fall weather this week. Cool, a bit rainy and cloudy. It couldn’t be more perfect or more seasonal in my opinion. With fall comes fall allergies, for me any way. I’ve been fighting a residual cough for a couple of weeks now. Elderberry juice to the rescue! There’s been lots of brunching (with all of the delicious brunchy beverages included, on the weekends at least) and kombucha/coffee/muffin runs to the co-op in the morning. I’ve spent lots of time lately camped out in coffee shops–looking for housing, sipping almond milk lattes, and applying to graduate schools. (One application is COMPLETED!) Often there’s a cupcake involved. There’s a lot to look forward to right now, and a lot going on around me. My little town of Carrboro is a whirl of fun and adventure in the fall. This time last year, I was in the thick of thesis writing and searching for mountain houses that I didn’t really get to enjoy all this area has to offer in autumn. In some ways, this fall is a beautiful gift–making up for those days that were so consumed by writing.
